Watsons Lawyers construction experience centres on the resources sector where we have advised on the construction aspects of gold and uranium projects. Our people have had wider experience in previous firms advising construction contractors in relation to their participation in consortia bidding for major infrastructure projects and the University of Melbourne on the development of its private university and new law school.

We are currently advising participants in joint ventures seeking to construct port facilities for the export of iron ore from the Pilbara in Western Australia, the south coast of Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

We provide practical, commercially astute advice in:

• the preparation of procurement documentation
• the negotiation of the building and construction contracts
• management of issues arising in connection with performance under those contracts and other incidents arising in the course of the project.
